Digital Accessibility Advocate Awards

Many individuals at UB are committed to eliminating digital accessibility barriers and expanding digital access and inclusion for people with disabilities. The Digital Accessibility Advocate Award recognizes these individuals and celebrates the work that they do.

We invite you to nominate someone you think is deserving of this recognition. All members of the university community (students, faculty and staff) are eligible to be nominated.

This award will be announced on May 16 to coincide with Global Accessibility Awareness Day

Criteria

Selection of recipient(s) for the Digital Accessibility Advocate Award is based on the degree to which a UB community member (student, faculty, staff) exemplifies and provides evidence of the following:

  • Impact: Nominee's work has produced tangible results to improve digital accessibility at the university.
  • Collaboration: Nominee has collaborated with other individuals, departments or units to help promote and support digital accessibility efforts.
  • Alignment with UB's Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility Policy: Nominee's work contributes toward the goal of "ensuring equal access to information that is presented electronically. As part of this commitment, digital content must be accessible to everyone, including individuals with physical, sensory or cognitive impairments, with or without the use of assistive technology," as expressed on the EIT Accessibility Policy webpage.
